[For Creators & Fans!] Levels Up Your "Ship" Insight! Dive Deeper into Their Bond with the Love Spread
Hi there! I'm Aries Yoko, the fortune-telling manga artist.
Today, I want to introduce a special way to use Tarot that I recommend not just for fans of fortune-telling, but especially for "storytellers" and "fandom lovers"!
The "Love Spread" I devised is actually incredibly useful for brainstorming story ideas and deepening character development in both fanfic and original fiction.
🎨 How to use it for creation?
"I want more depth in the relationship between these two." "I want to imagine the true feelings of that character which aren't told in the official story!" In those moments, these eight cards can actually become your "story plot."
1. Decide the story's theme from "The Atmosphere Between You"
First is the "Current State of the Two." For example, if "Death" appears, is it a scene of parting, or the moment an old relationship ends to be reborn in a new form? You can start writing a story from that single frame.
2. Increase resolution with "Each Current Situation"
By drawing the "Current Situation of each character," it gives you hints for settings like, "Maybe this was happening behind the scenes at that time?"
3. Match emotions with "Inner Hearts"
This is the most exciting part! By asking the cards for the "Characters' True Feelings," ideas for emotional psychological descriptions come bubbling up—like, "They seem cold on the surface, but in their hearts, they were this obsessed..."
4. Use the "Envisioned Future" as the plot's conclusion
The "Future they truly wish for in the depths of their hearts" becomes a major guidepost for deciding the goal of the story, whether it's a happy ending or a bittersweet conclusion.
🖋️ For Fanfiction or Original Fiction
- For Fanfiction: You can complement the "backside" of that official scene or check the compatibility of the two in a parody setting.
- For Original Fiction: You can work with the cards to build your own characters' personalities that aren't fully set yet, or the "reason" why the two are attracted to each other.
Since the results come out in natural words, it feels just like someone is "reading the story of the two of you aloud."
💌 In Closing
Fortune-telling is not just about knowing the future; it’s also a "tool for expanding your imagination." I hope you enjoy drawing the cards while wondering, "How would my favorite couple react?"
I hope your creative activities become even more fun and shine even more deeply. Aries Yoko is cheering for your wonderful stories!
