A Prescription for Creative Block: Discover Your "Innate Artistic Talents" Through Your Natal Horoscope
Hi there! I'm Aries Yoko, the fortune-telling manga artist.
For those who weave stories, perhaps the biggest worry is, "What is my own unique expression?" In fact, the celestial map at the moment you were born—your Natal Horoscope—contains the "blueprint" of stories that only you can tell. Today, I’ll talk about messages from the stars that manga artists and novelists should check.
Three Celestial Bodies That Govern Creative Style
In your horoscope, I want you to pay attention to three "actors" particularly involved in "expression":
- Mercury: Your "Linguistic Sense" and "Plotting Ability" Mercury is the planet that governs words and communication.
- If in Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): You excel at fast-paced dialogue and world-building based on meticulous logic.
- If in Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): You show talent in evocative descriptions that appeal to emotions and tug at the reader's heartstrings.
- Venus: Your "Aesthetic" and "Artistic Flair" Venus represents what you find "beautiful" and what you "love."
- If in Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn): You tend to prefer heavy, realistic worlds with detailed backgrounds and props.
- If in Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): You excel at creating high-energy, exciting, "royal road" entertainment.
- Neptune: The Source of Your "Imagination" Neptune governs dreams, illusions, and the invisible world. Those strongly influenced by this planet have the power to shape grand imaginations that leap beyond reality, such as fantasy or sci-fi. Those sudden, "impossible settings" are your strongest weapon.
Looking at the Stage Through Houses
Depending on which "House" your planets are in, you can see the themes where your pen moves most naturally.
- Many planets in the 3rd House: Daily Life and Familiar Relationships. You are skilled at creating realistic dramas, with a talent for turning mundane moments into something dramatic through sharp observation and lively dialogue.
- Many planets in the 5th House: Self-Expression and Dramatic Love. You are linked to brilliant, energetic stories. You’re second to none when it comes to romance or hot developments where character emotions explode.
- Many planets in the 8th or 12th House: Deep Psychology and Salvation. Your talent lies in heavy stories themed around the darkness of the heart, hidden secrets, or spiritual salvation. You can weave deep tales that shake the reader's soul.
Utilizing Stars in Character Settings
I also recommend setting up horoscopes for your characters.
- "Since this character's Moon is in Scorpio, they must act with strong obsession and devotion."
- "A character with Mercury in Aquarius would probably say a witty line like this." Using planetary traits for characterization creates consistency, allowing characters to start moving on their own within the story.
In Closing
There’s no need to imitate anyone else. The arrangement of stars in your horoscope proves that there is a story only you can tell. When you feel like you lack talent, gently open your celestial map. There, you’ll find seeds of sparkling stories you haven't noticed yet.
I am always rooting for wonderful stories to be born from your fingertips and color the world!
